The City of Louisville is in Boulder County, approximately 20 miles northwest of Denver. The city has a long mining history--more than 30 mines operated in Louisville historically--beginning in 1877 and the last mine being shut down in the 1950's. The city was incorporated in 1882. Louisville is consistently named one of the best places to live in American by a number of different publications such as CNN/Money (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011), Money Magazine (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017), Family Circle Magazine (2012), and The Denver Business Journal (2017).
According to City-Data.com, the 2019 estimated population of Louisville was 20,816; the estimated median household income was $109,862; and the estimated median single family home or condo value was $698,781.
Historic downtown Louisville, a five block square, is lined with buildings that are over 100 years old. The area is home to amazing restaurants, pubs, quaint shops, galleries, live music almost every night of the week, a museum and a Public Library. Steinbaugh Pavillion is an outdoor venue that hosts events such as farmer's markets and outdoor winter skating (Winterskate). Entertainment can be found at Coal Creek Community Theater.
Louisville has approximately 32 miles of trails--great for walkers, runners and bikers--and 1700 acres of Open Space located in 16 different areas.
Coal Creek Golf Course is an award winning 18 hole gold course with both 9 hole and 5 hole options.
